
Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi may have cancelled his visit to the Siddaganga Mutt, but the PM has mourned the death of the seer while addressing the gathering at the ‘Pravasi BharathDivas’ in Varanasi on Tuesday, January 22.
The PM remembered the seer right at the beginning of his talk and condoled the demise.
“During every visit to Siddaganga Mutt, Swamiji used to treat me with a lot of affection. I was fortunate to seek his blessings many a times. The demise of such a great soul and a ‘Maha Rishi’ is a loss to humanity. His contributions to the mankind will be remembered for generations,” said Modi.
The PM was supposed to visit the Mutt on Tuesday and take part in the last rites, but source said that due to security issues, the PM had to cancel his visit.
