Modi criticizes Congress

Chhattisgarh: Narendra Modi, the Gujarat chief minister and BJP’s prime ministerial candidate visited Chhattisgarh on November 14. He is planned be there for the next two days addressing the districts welfare.

During the first phase of election Narendra Modi had visited Chhattisgarh and now his presence in the given district is for the second phase of election campaign. Narendra Modi will address 9 campaigns during his two days visit.

Narenda Modi who is famous for his controversial statements, on the second day of his visit, on Thursday November 14 at Bemetra accused the Congress of doing secret deals with Maoists in Chhattisgarh.

Narendra Modi targeted the Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi as addressing them as ‘Madam’ and ‘Shehzade’.

He said, “The Congress lacks the courage to fight Maoists and try to irrelevantly deal with them but Dr Raman Singh the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh state is fighting them.”

“Is there even one Congress government in the entire country that is giving 24-hour power supply including in Delhi where Madam, PM, Shehzada live?” he added boasting about uninterrupted power supply in his own state, Gujarat.

Furthermore he questioned, “Madam and Shehzada came here and said we gave money. I want to ask Shehzada, did the money come from his ‘Mama’ (uncle’s) house?”

Concluding his sarcastic speech criticizing the congress government he said, “Despite the threat of Maoism my adivasi brothers and sisters haven’t refrained from casting their vote in the first phase of polling and I request the Election Commission to put a special chapter on the website that lists those who gave up their lives defending democracy.”

Lastly he congratulated Shivraj Singhji and the peoplefor the building this new district.72 constituencies of Chhattisgarh will vote on November 19, in the second phase of polling. 18 Maoist-hit constituencies voted on Monday, which kicked off state polls seen as the semi-final before next year’s national election.

Both Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi were rapped on the knuckles yesterday by the Election Commission for their campaign speeches in the state. The State will go to the second phase of poll on November 19. The Gujarat Chief Minister’s latest visit was finalized after BJP workers in all the poll-bound States demanded extension of his campaign.

Later Narendra Modi attended BJP election campaign rallies at, Kavardha, Kurud, Durg and Raipur and  on Friday, November 15, Modi will address rallies in Raigadh, Korba, Bilha and Mahasamund.
