MLA flees to london, fearing arrest

Bellary: Former minister and Hospet MLA Anand Singh is said to have fled to London via Singapore to avoid his imminent arrest by CBI sleuths. Singh had been summoned by the CBI to appear before investigating officers in connection with a scam related to illegal export of iron ore from Belekeri port.

The summons was served on him on Saturday, but till Tuesday evening, he had not appeared before the CBI officials, sources in the investigating agency said. Singh was avoiding the meeting as he feared arrest in the case. The CBI has already taken 19 people into custody, including Kampli MLA T.H. Suresh Babu and Karwar MLA Satish Sail in the case.
