Minor girl raped, set on fire in Delhi, suffers 95 per cent burns

Noida: In a tragic incident, a minor girl was allegedly raped and set on fire at a village near Delhi on Monday.

According to sources, at around 2.30 am later on Monday, the girl’s parents heard her screaming from the terrace of their home in Noida. When they ran up, they found her on fire.

She was taken to hospital with 95 per cent burns.

An accused from the village who allegedly stalked the teen has been taken into custody for questioning by the police.

“Witnesses have told us that the boy entered her house forcibly and after raping her he burnt her. We are waiting for a medical report…the burnt percentage is high,” a police officer said.   

The teenager, a Class 10 student, dropped out of school last year allegedly after a 20-year-old man started stalking her.

It has been reported that man continued to harass her until she stopped going out.

One of the doctor doctors treating her, said, “She is on a high dose of antibiotics and is being administered fluids. We are trying to control the spread of infection in her blood which can lead to multi-organ failure.”

The family has lived in the village in the Gautam Buddha Nagar area for nearly 17 years.
