Muktsar: Almost a month after brutally kidnapping and raping a 24-year-old woman in Punjab’s Muktsar on March 24, the accused surrendered before police today, as he was caught on camera dragging the victim out of her office.
The accused, Gurjinder Singh, abducted the woman from her workplace and a CCTV footage from a shop nearby shows him dragging her about 100 metres in broad daylight across a street.
While the lady screamed and shouted for help, no one came to her rescue.
She was reportedly taken to a farm house and raped repeatedly.
The police registered a case five days after the incident. The accused surrendered a day after the Dalit woman and her father met officials of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes.
Police say the man is from same village as the woman and knew her.
