Sanju Bamaniya and Siddharth Gaikwad, workers of a water sports firm, acted quickly on Sunday night to save the lives of two boys who were drowning at Mumbai’s Versova Rock Beach.
The youngsters are from the Andheri slums; their names are Suraj Raut, 16, and Lakshman Kumar, 15.
Water sports at Versova Rock beach were suspended after a high tide signal was issued for Mumbai beaches.
Two of the buddies went for a swim in the water, while the other four stayed on land. This is how the incident happened. The boys were carried away by the rising tide, as observed by beachgoers. Using the jet ski that belonged to their company, Bamaniya and Gaikwad raced to save Suraj and Lakshman. The lads’ lives were spared by the prompt action of the local water sports company staff.
They were brought to a neighboring hospital following the rescue, where their condition is now stable.
Bamaniya stated that in order to preserve the boys’ lives, quick intervention was essential.
