Mumbai: The MLA of Vile Parle, Krishna Hegde met   Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and Home Minister RR Patil in Nagpur on December 17, seeking action against the assailants  who damaged a Cross and a Statue of Lord Jesus Christ at Vile Parle.

Hegde informed the Chief Minister that there was a group of people which  are trying to create communal tension. The Christian Community had gathered in large number at the site of the Cross and offered prayers yesterday.MLA Hegde was also present during the prayers and appreciated the Christian community for the manner in which they handled the situation.

Though an FIR has been filed at the Santacruz Police Station no arrest has been made. Home Minister RR Patil spoke to the Additional Commissioner of Police Vishwas Nagre Patil and directed him  to trace and arrest the culprits.
