Late last night in Madhya Pradesh, a tractor engaged in illicit sand mining ran over a policeman, according to the police.
Assistant Sub Inspector Mahendra Bagri of Shehdol was crushed to death while attempting to stop the tractor that was transporting sand.
Along with two constables, Prasad Kanoji and Sanjay Dubey, Bagri had visited the location to investigate any illegal mining that may be taking place.
Mahendra Bagri died on the spot, while Mr Kanoji and Mr Dubey somehow managed to escape unhurt.
The driver fled the spot after killing Bagri. Police have announced a reward of ₹ 30,000 for any information leading to the accused.
