Patna: A series of lightning strikes across Bihar have claimed more than 30 lives in the last 24 hours, say reports.

According to sources from the State Disaster Management Department, lightning struck at Madyepura, Darbhanga, Araria, Madhubani, Bhagalpur, Saharsa, Begusarai, Purnea, Katihar, Khagaria, Jamui, Sitamarhi, Gaya and Mitigari districts, claiming more than 30 lives.

Reportedly, an ex-gratia of Rs 4 Lakh each to the victims’ kin has been announced by the state government on Thursday, June 27.
