New Delhi: Former BJP leader and Senior Advocate Ram Jethmalani has offered Congress President Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi legal help in the National Herald Case, that too free of cost.

Bharatiya Janata Party Leader Subramanian Swamy had filed case against mother-son duo in the National Herald Case, which has become a matter of concern for the Gandhis.

It is said that on December 11, the former BJP leader wrote to Sonia Gandhi stating that his services are available for the Gandhis if they needed it.

As per Times of India, Jethmalani had made it clear that he was not expecting any remuneration or consideration in lieu of the same and also categorically stated that he personally feels that the mother-son duo had not done anything wrong and the charges against them were ‘false’ and ‘malicious’.

It is said that Sonia Gandhi did not respond to the first letter, which compelled Jethmalani to shoot his second mail reading that since she did not respond to the first mail he would think he was discharged from the self-imposed obligation.

It is believed that a few days later Mrs Gandhi only acknowledge Jethmalani’s first letter.

A Delhi Court had last month granted bail to Gandhis after they appeared before it.
