New Delhi: Actor Aamir Khan said that India is “very tolerant” but requested Prime Minister Modi to rein in people who spread hatred.

Speaking at a TV show he told that our country is very tolerant, but there are people who are spreading hatred and they are present in every religion. “After all, Modiji is our PM, we have to tell him”, he said.

The actor was in news after his remarks at an event, that his wife was thinking of leaving India over growing intolerance.

Aamir clarified that he was “wrongly quoted” and to say about “rising intolerance” and to say “India is intolerant” were two different things.

The actor who landed in a controversy after intolerance comments a few days back said that he still is the country’s brand ambassador as India is his mother and not a brand. He was ever ready to do public campaigns for his motherland will never ever charge anything for doing them.
