Thiruvananthapuram: In a bizarre yet scary incident, a man from Kerala has massacred four of his family members and during the interrogation he told the that police that he did so to perform astral projection, a ritual which is believed to allow the performer to communicate with the souls of the dead.Accused Cadel Jeanson Raja claimed that Astral Projection could help him enhance his physical and intellectual limits.

On April 8, four members of Raja’s family were found dead and Raja was arrested on Monday. The victims were Raja’s parents-Dr Jean Padma, 58 and Rajathankam, 60, his sister Caroline, 25, and his maternal aunt Lalitha Jain, 70.

The police who suspect Raja may be suffering from some mental disorder have called on psychiatrists. They are also trying to ascertain if there could be some other reason behind the murder.

As per sources, Raja had bought a hatchet online and used the same to kill his parents and sister on April 5. His mother was his first victim. On April 7, he killed Jain. All of his victims were killed separately.
