Ralegan Siddhi: Anna Hazare who is on the fourth day of a hunger strike in Maharashtra urging the government to implement the Janlokpal Bill, angrily asked a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to leave his village today.
A furious Anna Hazare told Gopal Rai a close aide of Kejriwal, “It is my village, and my wish will be respected.”
Earlier Kejriwal was said to join Anna, but due to his ill-health he could not make it for the protest and instead Gopal Rai joined him.
Reportedly Gopal got into an argument with former army chief, General VK Singh, and was then publicly told off by Anna.
Anna is fasting to pressurize the government to urgently introduce the anti-corruption law, which commissions a national Ombudsman or Lokpal empowered to investigate graft among elected representatives and bureaucrats.
During his presidential address General VK Singh did not name the AAP but suggested it had betrayed Anna by making it seem like the veteran activist is a supporter of the party.
As arguments erupted, Anna asked Rai to leave the venue.
