Chennai: The animal rights activists have decided to appeal in the court after main accused Gautam Sudarshan, a medical student who threw a dog off the terrace of a building and his companion Ashish Pal were granted bail by a local court.

The main accused Gautam Sudarshan, a medical student at Kundrathur in Kancheepuram district was arrested by Chennai police on Wednesday. Gautam was seen in the video throwing the dog from a terrace. Gautam and his friend Ashish who shot the video were produced in the court. The horrific crime sparked massive outrage in social media.
The video had gone viral and a man from the city had lodged a complaint with the city police on Monday to arrest the culprits. However, the dog was found alive. Shravan Krishnan, soon after rescuing the dog posted in facebbok, “What breaks my heart is that she was still wagging her tail”. The dog has been named as ‘Bhadra’ by the activists who rescued it.
Veterinary doctors who are treating the dog said that it is out of danger and suffered two fractures, one on her hind leg and the other on her spine.
