A 14-year-old girl from Delhi’s Gulabi Bagh neighborhood was allegedly stabbed with a knife by a classmate on Monday, leading to severe facial injuries that necessitated 17 stitches. The family of the victim is requesting that the students engaged in the incident face severe consequences. On Wednesday, the Delhi police launched an inquiry after acting on their own initiative and taking notice of a rumored video that appeared online and featured the girl with serious facial injuries. The girl stated that she and her friends were having lunch on April 29 at approximately 11.20 am when the event happened.

After some girls stole her friend’s tiffin and ran off, the victim’s friend demanded its return, which resulted in a verbal fight. The victim made an effort to diffuse the tension, but as the argument got more heated, her classmate assaulted her with a knife. The victim’s family claims that following the incident, she received no assistance from the school. “My daughter’s face required 17 stitches. She still has a major medical issue. The victim’s mother said that nobody even assisted her in getting to the hospital after the attack. The victim’s older sister continued, saying, “My sister is a class 9 student who had facial injuries. She was attempting to calm everyone down when her buddies got into a brawl. However, she was attacked.

On Wednesday, a supposedly recorded video of the fight made its way into social media. The widely shared video purports to show a girl being attacked on the school grounds with a knife to her face. In addition, half of the victim’s cheek is bleeding out of the girl who has a wound on the right side of her face. The video has attracted a lot of attention and sparked debate among viewers. Since everyone on the video is a child, the police have acted in accordance with the child Justice Act. The incident has raised concerns about the safety and well-being of students in educational institutions and the need for prompt action to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
