New Delhi: Police in northwest Delhi’s Keshav Puram area reported a tragic discovery on Saturday when the bodies of a 13-year-old girl and her younger brother were found inside their father’s grocery shop. Authorities are currently searching for their father, Manish, who is suspected of being involved in their deaths.
The incident came to light when a call was received at 7:15 pm alerting authorities to the situation. According to reports, Manish’s wife informed police that the children hadn’t returned home from school, assuming they were with their father who often picked them up. However, attempts to reach Manish on his phone were unsuccessful.
Later in the evening, upon opening the shop shutter, family members discovered the sibling’s unconscious inside. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the children were declared dead. Their school bags were found within the shop premises, located on the ground floor of their residence.
Authorities suspect foul play, speculating that the children may have been poisoned or suffocated by their father. Investigations are ongoing, with post-mortem examinations set to determine the exact cause of death.
While initial inquiries suggest financial distress as a potential motive, further investigation is underway, including statements from family members. Police are also reviewing CCTV footage from the area and have deployed teams to locate Manish.
