New Delhi: Two assailants on a scooter robbed a cash collection agent in the Civil Lines area of north Delhi, making off with a staggering ₹50 lakh. The incident occurred around 9:30 pm on Friday near Monastery Market.

According to reports, the victim, identified as Rajesh, contacted the authorities after the robbery. He recounted that he had been returning from Maharana Pratap Bagh and Chandni Chowk after completing a cash collection task when the perpetrators intercepted him near the market. The robbers, riding on another scooter, forcefully took away the bag containing the substantial sum of money. Rajesh had placed the bag near his feet on the scooter, providing an opportunity for the assailants to snatch it, as per official accounts.

Law enforcement officials have initiated an investigation into the matter, registering a case of robbery at the Civil Lines police station. Special teams have been assembled to track down and apprehend the culprits.

Rajesh, who serves as a cash agent for a plastic pellet businessman based in Netaji Subhash Place, has provided his testimony to the authorities. Additionally, CCTV footage from the surrounding routes is being reviewed as part of the investigation.
