Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on the BJP, a day after he was released from Tihar Jail. Addressing leaders of his party in the national capital, Kejriwal accused the BJP-led union government of attempting to crush the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) by arresting its top leaders. He claimed that if the BJP returned to power in the central government, all opposition leaders would be sent to jail. However, he predicted that the saffron party would be restricted to 220 seats in the ongoing elections.

Kejriwal revealed why he did not resign from his post while being lodged in jail, stating, “If you imprison democracy in jail, democracy will run from jail. Even Hemant Soren should not have resigned. By not resigning, I am battling against Tanashahi.”

“The BJP knew that they would not be able to defeat AAP, hence a conspiracy was hatched to send me to jail and the government would fall but we did not fall into their trap,” he said.

The Delhi CM charged that no other party has been harassed to this extent in 75 years. “The Prime Minister is saying that he is fighting corruption but all the thieves are in his party. By arresting Kejriwal, they have given the message that if Kejriwal is arrested then they will arrest anyone,” he added.

Kejriwal made a serious allegation that if the BJP returned to power, they would send all the opposition leaders to jail, including Mamata Banerjee, MK Stalin, Hemant Soren, Pinarayi Vijayan, Uddhav Thackeray, and others. He also highlighted how politics has changed over the years, stating that the political careers of leaders like LK Advani, MM Joshi, Vasundhara Raje, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Raman Singh, and MLA Khattar have been finished. “Next Yogi Adityanath, if they win the election, they will change Uttar Pradesh CM within two months,” said Kejriwal.

The AAP leader also alleged that a dictator wants to end democracy without taking any names. He urged people to support efforts to save the country and its democracy.
