Hyderabad: A man slashed his tongue as a response to prolonged process of release of his pension money.

The incident occurred on the premises of the Secretariat, here on Tuesday.
The man was identified as BS Rajachary of Suraram village at Jeedimetla in the city. The 48-year-old man was rushed to the hospital and later discharged. Saifabad police said no case has been registered against him.
Police said that the staff posted for security at the Secretariat noticed the man slitting his tongue using a blade standing outside the CM’s block and alerted the police.
It is said that the man has been running from pillar to post over the last several months seeking his pension for physically handicapped persons as he had suffered burn injuries on his legs about six months ago and he walks using crutches. But, officials have denied him pension as he was not eligible.
On Tuesday, he wanted to meet the CM and other senior officials to present his case.
