New Delhi: According to reports the Dawood Ibrahim’s D-Company had plotted to spark communal clash by targeting churches and right-wing groups like RSS in Gujarat. The revelations came after the National Investigation Agency submitted chargesheet before a special court against 10 accused in the double murder case of BJP leaders in Bharuch.
In the chargesheet the NIA observed that the attack on BJP leaders in Bharuch in Gujarat was part of a larger conspiracy to kill Hindu leaders associated with right-wing groups in the state.

The co-accused of the attack, alleged members of Dawood’s team, Javid Patel Chikna was located in Pakistan and another accused Zahidmiya was in South Africa. They had planned to attack churches in Gujarat too with the intention of creating communal tension.

Javed not only sent money from Dubai to Gujarat through the hawala route, an illicit channel used for transferring money by circumventing legitimate banking channels but also arranged for the weapons to gun down Bangali and Mistry, the chargesheet said.

Javed allegedly sent Rs 5 lakh to the accused after the attack. A case has been registered against Javed’s brother Abid Patel.

It may be recalled that Shirish Bangali, a former BJP president in Bharuch, and Pragnesh Mistry, the party’s youth wing general secretary were shot dead by two bike-borne men on November 2. The police had arrested seven of the ten accused, Haji Patel, MD Yunus Shaikh, Abdul Samad, Abid Patel, MD Altaf, Mohsin Khan and Nisar Ahmed in connection with the case. It was a revenge killing against the capital punishment to Mumbai serial blasts convict Yakub Memon, who was hanged in July.

Yakub’s brother, Tiger Memon, mob boss Dawood and his brother, Anees Ibrahim, are considered to be the key conspirators behind the 1993 blasts that killed more than 250 people.
