Mumbai: Pradnya Mandhare, a mass media student in a valiant act, dragged a drunken “molester” to a Railway police station after trying to touch her “inappropriately.”  

The incident took place yesterday, when Pradnya was travelling in a local train from Vile Parle station to Borivli, where a visibly drunk person approached her and touched her inappropriately. After efforts to avoid him failed, she managed to overpower and began to fight back.

“He was trying to hit me, but I could overpower him because he was stinking of alcohol and I could make out that he was drunk,” Pradnya told to Mid-day news.

Over fifty people were travelling with her and yet no one came to her aid. Yet, she managed to drag him by the hair to Borivli Government Railway Policestation.

A police officer said “”We have arrested the accused, Chavan (25), who is a drug addict and was also drunk when the incident took place. We conducted a medical test of the accused and he will be produced court on Thursday (today). We are verifying whether he has a previous criminal record.”
