New Delhi: A 17-year-old Juvenile, who was out of a correction home on basis of good behaviour, after he killed minor for money is back in news for killing an elderly in South Delhi. The reason behind both the killings has been the same- aspiration to take part in a TV dance reality show!
The juvenile, along with his girlfriend, also 17, had in September last year allegedly abducted and murdered 13-year-old Swapnesh Gupta, just because he wanted money to participate in a reality dance show. The couple intended to raise the money from the boy’s father.
Soon, the juvenile was detained and sent to a correction home from where he was released after two months for good behaviour, the police said.
However, on Monday an elderly identified as Mithilesh Jain was found dead in her apartment in B K Dutt colony and the police initially thought it was a case of natural death, till Jain’s family found that valuables including gold and mobile phones and cash were missing from her house.
An autopsy revealed that she had been strangled.
The incident had left the cops in state of tizzy, but not for too long.
When one of the mobile phones stolen from Jain’s house was switched on by the killer, the cops traced its location and nabbed the killer.
The killer was the same juvenile hailing from Faridabad near Delhi, who was out on grounds of ‘good behaviour’ from a correction home. On being questioned, the 17-year-old, a professional dancer, allegedly told the police that he had killed the woman for money to participate in the reality dance show.
