Mumbai: Kapil Sharma, who came in as a stand-up comedian in one of the laughter shows hosted by Star One, “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge”, saw a drastic upward trend in his carrier with a programme under the title “Comedy Nights with Kapil” and the “Kapil Sharma Show” in Colors and Sony.

Recently the starcast of the upcoming Bollywood movie “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga” was invited to Kapil’s show which included lead actors Rajkumar Rao and Sonam Kapoor, along with Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla.

Rajkumar Rao was met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the other Bollywood actors were late for the show. Kapil asked Rajkumar, if PM Modi had enquired about him to which Rajkumar said that both PM Modi and he were chatting about him (Kapil).

Rajkumar told Kapil that PM Modi was very upset with the tweets made by him (Kapil) in the year 2016.

Kapil immediately turned to the camera and apologised to PM Modi for his tweets and requested the star cast to change the topic.

Back in 2016, Kapil had tweeted against PM Modi, “I am paying 15 cr income tax from the last 5 years n still I have to pay 5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office. Yeh hain appke ache din?”
