New Delhi: As the national capital slowly limps towards normalcy with the people starting to gather their lives together, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Monday, March 2, reached out to the people asking them to inform the state government about anyone who is in need of relief.
Taking to Twitter on Monday, the CM wrote, “We are working 24/7 to make sure relief efforts reach all in need. If u know of anyone who is in need, use #DelhiRelief to reach us. Pl do mention exact address/contact details so that we can reach him. We will ensure a quick response from our agencies. [sic]”

According to an official statement released by the state government, CM Kejriwal has instructed the authorities to “speed up the relief and rehabilitation work”. The statement also informed that those whose houses were burnt during the riots would get immediate relief of Rs 25,000.
At present, officials of concerned departments are assessing the loss of those who have lost their lives, houses, shops, vehicles etc. Relief camps have also been set up across the violence-hit Northeast region of the national capital. Monetary assistance and other necessities are also being made available to the survivors.
The authorities are also compiling a detailed list of victims so that the compensation announced by the CM can be given. Victims of the violence are applying for compensation through the counter set up at the North East District Magistrate office as well as through NGOs etc., the statement informed. These applications are being scrutinised and verified to prepare the list.
As per a report by ANI, as many as 47 people have died as a result of the violence that broke out in North-East Delhi. Around 200 people were injured and 903 people have either been arrested or detained by police. As many as 254 FIRs have been registered, of which 41 have been filed under the Arms Act.
The Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has set up two Special Investigative Teams (SITs) to investigate the incident.
