Narayanpur: Security forces have killed at least seven insurgents on Tuesday in Chattisgarh’s  Narayanpur district.
Security forces engaged in an ongoing encounter with Maoists have reported the deaths of at least seven insurgents, including two females. Alongside, a significant cache of weapons, including an AK-47 rifle, was discovered at the scene.
The confrontation erupted around 6 am in the forest area as a joint team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Special Task Force (STF) conducted operations in the Abujmarh region, near the Narayanpur and Kanker border.
Authorities disclosed that during a search of the encounter site, the bodies of seven Maoist operatives, including two females, were found. Identification procedures for the deceased are currently underway.
Additionally, security personnel seized a substantial amount of arms, ammunition, and daily essentials from the Maoist hideout.
Earlier this month, security forces achieved a major victory by eliminating 29 Maoists, including a prominent leader named Shankar Rao, who carried a bounty of Rs 25 lakh on his head. This operation, which occurred on April 16 in the Hapatola forest between Binagunda and Koronar villages in Chhotebethiya, marked the deadliest blow against the Maoist insurgency in Chhattisgarh’s history.
