New Delhi: Former Border Security Force (BSF) jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav who was sacked from the force for complaining about the quality of food served in the armed force, has announced that he would contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Yadav, a resident of Rewari in Haryana, was removed from the BSF in 2017, for uploading a video about the quality of food served to the forces.

The BSF in a press release, had stated that Yadav, was dismissed from service by the Summary Security Force Court (SSFC) following an inquiry into the incident.

“The jawan was found guilty of an act prejudicial to good order and discipline of the force in which he made false allegations on social media regarding the quality of food and did not adhere to formal grievance redressal mechanism of the force,” the press release mentioned.

Yadav will be facing Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the election, as he has said that he would be contesting from the Varanasi constituency. Reportedly, he will be contesting as an independent candidate.
