Balakrishna Puttur wins Top Achiever Award for indigenous software

Mumbai: The Pune-based Cabinet Systems and Controls Private Limited founded and  headed by Balakrishna Puttur  who hails from Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district, has earned a rare honour. The company has bagged Top Achiever Award from Welspun Corporation Limited, Anjar, Kutch in Gujarat, for developing indigenous software in manufacturing MS pipes.

Welspun Corporation Chief Technical Officer Prasant K Mukherjee  presented the Award  to Balakrishna. The Award comprises Rs 5 lac in cash and a citation. The firm has  designed a software for manufacturing 1.6 m diameter x 45 mm wall thick x 18.0 m long mild steel pipe in just 5  minutes.

The software developed by Balakrishna Puttur is the first ever in Asian continent which will facilitate offshore rigs in pumping crude oil to the processing units based on the coast.  It’s the second in the world as a Russian enterprise has already registered its invention already.

Balakrishna is a degree holder in engineering  from the NIT-K, Suratkal (former KREC) and  his enterprise has become the  first in India to develop such software.
