Mumbai: Like every political party in this country has an agenda before the state or national elections, the Shiv Sena too is clinching to the agenda of “Ram Mandir” for the upcoming Lok Sabha 2019 elections.

Addressing the media on Monday, November 19, Shiv Sena Supremo Uddhav Thackeray said that his party’s first priority would be Ram Mandir.

He quoted, “First temple, then government.”

Uddhav emphasised that it was a demand of all the Hindus and that the construction of the temple must be done soon.

Regarding this, Uddhav Thackeray is said to meet the party leaders of Shiv Sena who are outside Maharashtra, in Ayodhya on November 24 and 25. A meeting will be organised on the Ram Mandir issue.

Uddhav has requested the party workers to conduct “Maha Aarthi” ( a Hindu ritual of lighting wicks soaked in gingely or coconut oil or ghee). On the same day, he will be performing “Sarayu Puja” (offering to River Sarayu, which flows towards the north in Uttar Pradesh).

Uddhav Thackeray criticised the central government that it was the failure on its part to not have constructed the Ram Mandir, inspite of being in power from the past four years.
