Yenepoya (deemed to be university) conducts programme on Gender Sensitization

As a part of YU-Gender sensitization cell, YPCRC organized an Awareness programme on Gender Sensitization with the theme “Parity: Say NO to Gneder Discrimination” to bring awareness about gender sensitization, equity and equality among students, the future society on March 2nd , 2019 at EMD building auditorium, Yenepoya Medical College Hospital.

Welcome note and Significance of the day was addressed by principal of YPCRC Dr. Mohammed Gulzar Ahmed. He welcomed the Chief guest Dr. B K Sarojini, Guests of Honour Prof. Abdul Rahman, Dr. Leena K. C, Organizing secretary Mrs. Sindhu Priya E S and President Dr. C. V. Raghuveer on the dias. The programme started with the invocation by Mr. Abdul Malik, student of 4th sem, B.Pharm and lamp lightening ceremony by the dignitaries on the dias.

Chief guest of the program Dr. B. K. Sarojini, Chairperson, Dept. of Industrial Chemistry, Mangaluru University addressed the gathering on current scenario in the society on gender discrimination and how to bring parity among different genders. 

Dr. Abdul Rahman, Advisor of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) and Dr. Leena K. C, Principal, Yenepoya Nursing College, expressed their happiness for conducting this kind of programme as it is essential to create responsiveness among the young generation for reducing gender bias in the present day societal circumstances.

President of the programme, Dr. C. V. Raghuveer, Pro Vice Chancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) concluded the programme with his presidential address. The programme was ended by National anthem.

As a part of this programme, we also conducted handmade poster presentation competition for the students of all constituent colleges of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University). Winners and Runners were awarded with the cash prize.
