Mangaluru: The World Homoeopathy Day 2017, commemorating the 262th birth anniversary of Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann (founder of homeopathy) was observed at Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College, Deralakatte on April 10. The programme began with a prayer song invoking God’s blessings.
Dr M S Karthikaeyan Sethu, managing director of SS HAN Hospital Madhurai, was the Guest of Honor. Dr M R Ravi, CEO of Dakshina Kannada was the chief guest. Rev Fr Richard Coelho, director – incharge of FMCI presided over the function. Rev Fr Vincent Vinod Saldanha, Administrator, FMHMC, greeted the guest with a bouquet. This was followed by traditional lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries on the Dais.
Dr M R Ravi, KAS, chief executive officer, zilla panchayat, DK District greeting everyone for celebrating the day and praising service by the Fr Muller’s he said, “education and health are essential. Today people are after money. They have become more materialistic and mechanical. Because of industrialization, people have moved away from nature. People are busy in getting and spending. Knowingly or unknowingly we have become what is called as beneficiaries of globalisation. Youth need right kind of direction and guidance. We are technically connected, commercially connected and materially, but we are not connected emotionally. Which is something today its missing. Kind of connectivity should be organic. Today we need to be good human beings.
In-charge director Fr Richard Coelho called upon the students to be more caring and impart selfless service to the helpless. The toppers Aysha Rauf – Rs 45,000, Keerthana K – Rs 15,000 and Yenduri Anusha – Rs 10,000 were honoured on the occasion.
Dr Rita Chakraborty, professor and HOD, department of repertory, convenor, rendered the vote of thanks and Dr Yashaswini and Dr Shruti, postgraduates compered the whole programme.
On the occasion essay writing, extempore, quiz and drug picture presentation were conducted.
