Nitte Paneer campus holds Bird Walk to mark World Earth Day

Mangaluru: Ila-2022, an awareness initiative to focus on sustainability and conservation,  was held at Nitte Paneer Campus on World Earth Day, April 22nd. The session chairs included Dr Jagdish Paithankar, Research Associate, NUCSER, and Chief  Guest. Dr Smitha Hegde, Deputy Director, NUCSER, Guest of Honor. Prof.  Raviraj, Head of the Department, Nitte Institute of Communication, Dr Anisha  Nishath, Coordinator, Ni-Eco Club, and Akshay T S, Student coordinator, Ni-Eco  Club, were present. 

A Bird walk was organized to mark World Earth Day, where bird feeders created by the members of the  Ni-eco club were installed on the campus. The feeders endeavoured to provide water and other essential food grains for birds, which helps prevent migration due to the lack of food resources. 

Prof. Raviraj proposed the opening remarks. Dr Smitha Hegde addressed the  crowd on the significance of “Investing in Our Planet.” Dr Jagdish Paithankar conducted a presentation on bird tracking.

Akshay T S proposed a vote of thanks.
