Mangaluru: The ‘World Alzheimer’s Month 2016’ with a theme ‘Remember Me’ was launched here at Kadri park on September 1 at the presence of Dr Olinda Pereira, veteran social worker, founder/director of Vishwas Trust for the Elderly and founder principal of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya.
The unique programme was organised by People’s Association for Geriatric Empowerment(PAGE) supported by Karnataka Bank, Vishwas Trust, Roshni Nilaya, Nitte Education Trust, Abhaya Ashrama – Mangalore University and several other like-minded organisations.
Dr Prabha Adhikari – Founder of KMC Nava Chaitanya, Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar, MLC Capt. Ganesh Karnik, Er Jeradin D’souza, founder of Mangalore Alzheimer’s Association(MAA) were present on the occasion. Hundreds of students from various colleges, enthusiastic middle-aged and senior citizens joined the inauguration ceremony.
The grand finale will be held on September 21 at Town Hall.
