Valedictory Ceremony of Shakthi Kalanidhi Inter School Contest

Mangaluru: ‘Art is a stress buster. Learning Art can improve motivation, concentration, confidence, and teamwork’ said Dr. P.L.Dharma, Registrar (Evaluation) of Mangalore University, Konaje on the occasion of the Valedictory function of the District Level Inter-School Shakthi Kalanidhi Contest held at Shakthi Residential School campus, Shakthinagar, Mangaluru.

“Art is connected to human experience, It is always made part of our ways of living. It can be said that if it weren’t for art, our history, culture, and traditions would be in more danger of being forgotten” he added.

Sri Dayananda B, Senior Art teacher of Daya Arts, Mangaluru was felicitated on this occasion.

He said that the studies have shown that exposure to art can make you better in other fields of knowledge It exists as a pathway to a greater understanding of the world and ourselves, enriching our souls with passion in the process.

More than 15 schools with around 100 students took part in the contest. Best Entry in each category bagged a cash prize of Rs. 750, a gift hamper from Itsy Bitsy, a certificate, and a memento. So also the top 3 places won a cash prize of 3000, 2000 and 1000 along with the top mentioned incentives.

In the First category for LKG and UKG students, Ahan of Canara Primary School, Urwa gets the First Prize, SanchiShenoy of Tiny Steps Pre-School, Surathkal gets a second prize and AbhayBhat of New Star Kids bagged third place.
In the Second Category involving students of Grade 1 and 2 Aaradhya of Holy Family English Medium, Surathkal, Aaradhya A.R of Canara Higher Primary School, Urwa and Ashish Rai of Sudhana School Puttur bagged First, Second and Third respectively.

Nilishka of Vivekananda English Medium School, Adit Nair, and Y. Hansika of Canara Higher Primary School, Urwa got First, Second and Third place respectively in the contest meant for Grade 3, 4, and 5.
Among the artists of Grade 6, 7, and 8 Anvith H, Thushara, and Rithesh S. Shet of Canara High School, Urwa bagged all three places respectively.

In the last category involving High School children of Grade 9 and 10 the First Place was won by Mokshith Suresh of Delhi Public School, Y Ayush of Canara High School, Urwa got second and Adithya K. Puttraya of Sandeepani Rural Educational School, Puttur got Third place.

Art by Sanvi Bhat of Canara Primary School, Urwa, Ruthva H.P of Canara Higher Primary School, Dongerkeri, Skandani M.D of Sharada Vidyalaya School and Vijeeth P.Rai and Ankitha S of Sandeepani Rural Education School, Puttur claimed to be the Best Entry in the five different categories.

The major promoters of this event were Itsy Bitsy who distributed gift hampers to winners and conditional vouchers to all participants. Also, NMPT and Campco Ltd have encouraged us in conducting this program. Selected Paintings of the students of Mahalasa Art School were exhibited during this contest.

Vidya Kamath G, Principal Shakthi Residential School proposed the welcome address, Sharanappa, Kannada teacher, and Poornesh P, Art teacher introduced the guests. Ashwini Pai, a Hindi teacher concluded with a vote of thanks.

Saguna C.Naik, Governing Council Member, Shakthi Group of Institutions was the Chief Guest. Dr.K.C.Naik, the Administrator, Sanjith Naik, Secretary, Ramesh K, Chief Advisor, Institute Development Officer Prakyath Rai Poornesh P, Co-ordinator of Shakthi Kalanidhi Contest, all staff and students were present on this occasion.
