St. Philomena College students organises guest lecture on GST

Puttur: The Management Association and Department of Business Management of St Philomena College Puttur organized a guest lecture on ‘Goods and Services Tax’ on September 19 in the college auditorium.

A Chartered Accountant from Puttur, B Aravinda Krishna was the resource person. He said, “The introduction of GST would be a significant step in the reform of indirect taxation in India. GST would lead to easy administration and enforcement. From the consumer point of view, the biggest advantage would be in terms of reduction in the overall tax burden and it also helps to have free movement of goods from one state to another.”

The Principal of the college, Prof. Leo Noronha presided over the programme. The Head of Department Radhakrishna Gowda, Conveners of the Management Association Prashanth Rai and Pushpa N were present at the event.

Mohammad Shaafi invoked the blessings of God before the programme began. The President of the Association, Ahmed Jainuddin welcomed the gathering. Sandarsh introduced the resource person. Nixon Joseph compered the programme. Anthony Shreyas proposed the vote of thanks.
