Mangaluru: Zephyr 2K16, ‘Poseidon’ a National Level Post-Graduate Management Fest, organized by the Department of Business Administration, St Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru, was inaugurated at Bishop Aloysius Paul Conference Hall, SJEC on Wednesday, April 6.

Mr Gilbert D’Souza, President of Rachana Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in his inaugural address said that the presentation of the event was on par with international events. He spoke about Vasco da Gama who dared to travel several miles to India in a simple boat.

“You are going to complete your education soon and start your journey of life. Take all the challenges coming your way,” he said.

“The three most important things in life to succeed are desire, decision and determination. Grab every opportunity available and don’t stop at failures,” he added.

Dr. Joseph Gonsalvis, Principal, SJEC, Mangaluru, greeted the participants and expressed that the students should follow the footsteps of Gilbert D’Souza who began with a small business and grew to greater heights. He advised the students to identify their strengths and get success.

Rev Fr Joseph Lobo, Director, SJEC, Mangaluru, in his presidential address said that he was feeling great on this special day with the presence of dignitaries with great experience.

“The advice of Gilbert D’Souza was like a dad to his children. A dad who has experience and been through everything in his life. If students put into use all the qualities and characteristics into themselves, they are surely going to succeed. Work constantly on your inner enemies like fear and overcome difficulties. I wish all the participants the very best and spend the two days of the event participating,” he said.

Governing council members Walter D’Souza and Allan Pereira, Faculty Convenors, Rakshith bhandary and Vinish P, Prakash Pinto, Dean, MBA, Student Convenor Renita Menezes, faculty members and students were present.

Student Convenor, Gowtham M, proposed the vote of thanks.
