Prestige International School celebrates Women’s Day

Mangaluru: In celebration of the spirit of womanhood, the Prestige International School and PU College celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8, in its auditorium.

The chief guest Soujanya Hegde, an acclaimed anchor, dancer and actress, encouraged women to appreciate themselves. The guest of honour Famida Ibrahim, Lion’s Club President, known for her humanitarian work, shared her life experience to bolster the courage of women.

On this occasion, Managing Director of Prestige Schools Reshma Hyder felicitated the winners of various competitions conducted as part of Women’s Day celebrations.

Various spot and group games were also conducted at the event by the staff under the guidance of Feroza Fayaaz, Principal of the institution. School Counsellor Dr. Ruksana Hassan surprised the audience with her dance with the chief guest Sanjana Hegde.

The celebration also highlighted the theme of IWD 2018–“Press for Progress”–where the women were encouraged to be a part of positive media and promote women’s rights. It was a day to remember and appreciate the achievements of women in all the fields of life.
