Mumbai: In the aftermath of the allegations made by Tanushree Dutta of “Aashiq Banaya Aapne” fame against Bollywood actor Nana Patekar, there has been a lot of chaos with some supporting the actress and others supporting her alleged assaulter.

In response to the allegations of sexual harassment levelled against him by Dutta, Patekar, on Monday, October 1, sent her a legal notice through his lawyer, Rajendra Shirodkar terming her allegations as “false”.

Speaking about the notice to the media in Mumbai on Monday, Patekar’s lawyer, Rajendra Shirodkar said that it was standard notice that denied Dutta’s allegations and sought an apology.

“I don’t know why she (Tanushree) is talking about this now, but she may have some reasons to do it,” said the lawyer, adding that Patekar would be arriving in Mumbai soon to address a press conference.

Nana Patekar spoke to Mirror Now regarding the sexual harassment allegations and, dismissing Dutta’s claims, said, “What does she mean by sexual harassment?… Whatever people want to say, they can say. But I will continue doing my work.”

Dutta, in response to reports of the legal notice, told News18 one Monday, that she had not received any legal notice. Terming this as a mere “threat” she said, that such tactics are used so others like her would be scared to come forward. She then assured anyone else with experiences similar to hers and who come forward, not to “worry about these kind(s) of intimidation tactics” as the whole nation would support them.

She also said that this is an “excellent time to take these remorseless men to task and send a strong message in the society” as man media houses are “standing in solidarity with this movement (#MeToo movement)”.
