The most expensive film of all time, Baahubali, including Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali: The Conclusion (2016) was a giant commercial undertaking. After the first film earned a grand total of Rs 650 crore at the box office, earning it the spot of the second highest-grossing film worldwide all eyes are now its sequel which looks to surpass Aamir Khan’s PK with its whopping collection of Rs 792 crore worldwide any day now.

The film opened with a 90 per cent occupancy in theatres across India and according to Karan Johar, the distributor of the Hindi version of Baahubali: The Conclusion, the film netted Rs 121 crore on Friday in India.

The film has not only appealed to the Indian masses but has also turned out to be the highest-grossing Indian film in the US in the first two days.

Made on a budget of around Rs 250 crore, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has already raked in Rs 500 crore just through satellite and distribution rights. Theatrically, the film has been released in four languages viz. Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi thereby maximising the film’s chances to earn profits.

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion begins right where Baahubali: The Beginning ended. Besides giving answer to the question, “Why Katappa killed Baahubali?”, the second film also shows Mahendra Baahubali avenging the death of his father by taking on Bhallala Deva.
