New Delhi: Reliance Industries’ Chairman Mukesh Ambani has topped the Forbes’ ‘100 Richest Indians’ list with a net worth of USD 22.7 billion.
India’s richest pharmaceutical magnate Dilip Shanghvi remains at number two with a net worth of USD 16.9 billion. His wealth fell by USD 1.1 billion along with a drop in the shares of his Sun Pharmaceutical Industries , the world’s fifth-largest generics maker.
Taking the third spot are the Hinduja brothers with a net worth of USD 15.2 billion, up from USD 14.8 billion last year. Tech magnate Azim Premji, who has led Wipro for five decades, slips one spot to No 4 on the list with a net worth of USD 15 billion. Construction magnate Pallonji Mistry takes the fifth spot with net worth of USD 13.9 billion. Steel baron Lakshmi Mittal ranks to number 6 with net worth of USD 12.5 billion.
Taking the 7th spot is the Godrej Family with net worth of USD 12.4 billion. Indian tech pioneer Shiv Nadar, cofounder of HCL Group clocked in a net worth of USD 11.4 billion to grab the 8th rank. Kumar Mangalam Birla comes in at 9th spot with net worth of USD 8.8 billion. Cyrus Poonawalla is the 10th richest Indian with a net worth of USD 8.6 billion.
Yoga guru Ramdev’s aide Balkrishna, who is co-founder of consumer goods company Patanjali Ayurved, has debuted on Forbes magazine’s ‘100 Richest Indians’ list. E-commerce giant Flipkart’s co-founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal made a surprise exit from the richest 100 club.
