Washington, April 14 (IANS) Police in the US state of Utah Sunday arrested a 39-year-old woman for killing her seven infants over a 10-year period, the media reported.
Megan Huntsman was arrested from her Pleasant Grove home and booked on murder charges, The Salt Lake Tribune reported.
Huntsman’s ex-husband, who is believed to be the father of the infants, tipped off police Saturday and they found the body of a newborn infant, who appeared to be full term.
“A search warrant was obtained for the residence and during the execution of the warrant, officers discovered six additional infant bodies. Each infant was found packaged in separate containers,” police said in a release.
Further investigation revealed that Huntsman had given birth to the infants, and then killed them, over a decade.
Huntsman’s three daughters still live in the home, owned by the ex-husband’s parents, the Tribune quoted a neighbour as saying.
Two older girls are aged 18 to 20, while the youngest is about 13.
The ex-husband had been cleaning out the garage Saturday to prepare to move back into the house when he made the grisly discovery.
