Ohio: While addressing a campaign rally in Cincinnati, President of the United States Donald Trump promised that he would cure AIDS and congenital cancer “very shortly”.

Speaking to the crowd of supporters gathered at the arena, Trump said, “The things we’re doing in our country today, there’s never been anything like it. We will be ending the AIDS epidemic shortly in America, and curing childhood cancer very shortly.”

This is not the first time Trump has made this bold promise. In his State of the Union address earlier this year, he said that his administration was committed to finding a cure for cancer among the American children and allocated nearly $500 million for research in the field of pediatric cancer.

At the State of the Union, Trump also stated his goal to end the AIDS epidemic and eradicate HIV transmissions by the year 2030. However, medical experts and scientists have expressed their speculation at the stipulated deadline.

Many experts still believe that mitigating AIDS is difficult despite the technological advances in science and research. They have continued to cite “a lack of effective medication” as one of the reasons why it is tough to defeat and eradicate the deadly disease.
