New York: In the highly anticipated courtroom showdown, the stage was set for a clash of legal significance intertwined with scandalous narratives.

Donald Trump, the former US president known for his assertiveness, found himself in an unusual position, compelled to listen as a porn star recounted a disputed bedroom encounter in open court.

Stormy Daniels, addressing the New York court, described an incident where Trump allegedly entered the bedroom while she was inside the bathroom. Her testimony delved into explicit details, painting a vivid picture despite attempts by the judge to steer the discussion.

Throughout Daniels’ narrative, Trump maintained a stoic demeanor, though the judge noted his visible reactions, including audible expressions of disagreement and head shaking during her testimony.

Despite objections from Trump’s defense team, Daniels continued to disclose intimate details, including Trump’s affectionate nickname for her and their conversations, which ranged from personal matters to professional opportunities.

The encounter, dated back to 2006, unfolded during a golf tournament where Trump had invited Daniels for dinner. Their interaction, as described by Daniels, traversed various topics, including Trump’s family and career aspirations.

Despite Trump’s apparent engagement during their conversation, Daniels highlighted moments of discomfort, such as Trump’s comparison of her to his daughter and their playful exchange involving a magazine.

As Daniels recounted the events, Trump’s demeanor remained largely unchanged, occasionally conferring with his legal team while his son, Eric, observed with visible disapproval.

Before Daniels took the stand, Trump expressed frustration on social media about the unexpected witness, lamenting the lack of preparation time for his lawyers.

Daniels clarified on the witness stand that the encounter was consensual, recounting Trump’s post-interaction remarks and her swift departure.

Following Daniels’ testimony, Trump’s legal team sought a mistrial, arguing that much of her narrative was irrelevant to the fraud charges against the former president. The judge, while denying the request, acknowledged certain aspects of the testimony as potentially unnecessary for the proceedings.
