Pakistan Army soldiers allegedly assaulted police officials in Bhawalnagar, Punjab province, on Wednesday, as reported by multiple sources on social media.
The altercation reportedly took place at Madrisa Police Station following the confiscation of illegal weapons from the brother of one of the soldiers by the police.

According to eyewitness accounts and video evidence circulating online, a group of soldiers arrived at the station in several vehicles, forcibly took the keys from a police officer, and entered the premises, resulting in a chaotic situation. The soldiers purportedly assaulted the officials using rifle butts and sticks, inflicting injuries on several personnel, including the station SHO. The severity of the attack left visible marks on the victims’ bodies.

The incident, which occurred around 10 a.m. after Eid prayers, led to serious injuries among the police officers involved. The disproportionate response by the army has prompted public outrage and demands for accountability.

In response, the Punjab Police authorities downplayed the incident, labeling it as a “minor incident” and suggesting that false impressions were being created to incite conflict between the army and the police. They emphasized a joint investigation by both institutions and asserted their commitment to collaborative efforts in combating terrorism and criminal activities in the region.
