London: An Indian-origin woman and her two daughters were found dead under mysterious circumstances at their home in London on Friday. Heena Solanki, 34, was a lab technician. Her daughters Prish and Jasmine were four and nine years old respectively.

According to a report, moments after paramedics and police arrived at the house, police ordered neighbours to close all their doors and windows, saying there had been a “chemical incident” there. Witnesses said police had also taken away what appeared to be a suitcase and a series of tubes,  says the report.

“The deaths are being treated as unexplained at this stage,” said a Scotland Yard spokesperson. Some media reports claim that Solanki poisoned her daughters before killing herself in what the police are calling a “toxic chemical reaction”.

British newspaper The Telegraph reported that detectives were looking at the possibility that Heena Solanki could have concocted a poisonous gas. Another newspaper pegged the blame on “chemical poisoning.”  Detectives from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command are investigating this further.

It has been reported that Solanki lived with her 42-year-old husband who was on vacation at the time of the incident.

“I knew Heena from the school, her daughter Jasmine and my daughter are in the same class. We picked up our daughters after Science class. Everything seemed okay and then I got back on Friday from vacation to hear this news about what had happened and it was really traumatic,” said Ameena, a close friend of the Solanki’s, barely being able to hold back her tears. Solanki’s Facebook page states she studied at South Gujarat University until 2002.
