Humanity at its best: Hospital personnel fulfills patient’s last wish

Queensland: A 72-year-old prostate cancer patient named Ron McCartney lying on the deathbed had his last wish of having a Caramel Sundae ice cream from the McDonald restaurant, which was fulfilled by the Queensland Ambulance officers namely Kate Hanafy and Hanna Hoswell, in Australia.

As the health condition worsened, McCartney was rushed to the Queensland Hospital in the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS). He asked for such a wish then. Caramel Sundae was one of his favourite food items. Officers Hanafy and Hoswell, responded to the last wish on time.

The photograph of this act, which went viral, was shared by McCartney’s daughter Danielle Smith, which received massive response. McCartney wife exclaimed it as “An unexpected act of kindness.”

Succumbing to the illness Ron McCartney died on Saturday morning, September 1.
