New York: A grim tale of a missing six-year-old boy with special needs has left a community in shock and disbelief. Cindy Rodriguez-Singh, who fled to India earlier this year with her Indian-origin husband and six other children, has been indicted by a grand jury in Texas for the murder of her son, Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez.
Noel’s disappearance was discovered during a welfare check at the family’s home in Everman. Witnesses had reported seeing him in an unhealthy and malnourished state, a heartbreaking testament to the alleged abuse he suffered. Cindy now faces charges of capital murder, injury to a child, and abandoning a child without intent to return.
Despite extensive efforts, Noel’s whereabouts remain unknown. The investigation revealed disturbing details of neglect and abuse, with Cindy allegedly depriving the child of necessities and spreading false claims about him being “evil” or “possessed.”
Noel, born prematurely with various physical disabilities and developmental disorders, was last seen in a hospital where his twin sisters were born. The FBI and other federal agencies are working tirelessly to extradite Cindy to the US, as authorities continue the search for the missing boy.
Even in the absence of Noel’s body, law enforcement officials remain resolute. Everman Police Chief Craig Spencer emphasized that the lack of a body would not hinder their pursuit of justice. “That doesn’t preclude the DA’s office from being able to push this case forward and get a murder conviction on the case,” he stated, underscoring the determination to seek justice for Noel, whose tragic fate continues to haunt the community.
