New Delhi: Amid pressure from the Samajwadi Party and within the Congress, Union Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma on Wednesday expressed regret over his controversial remarks made against Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Verma, who met PM Dr Manmohan Singh on Wednesday March 20 denied he had been asked to submit his resignation from the council of ministers as speculated in the media.
Sources said that Verma was asked to quit when he called on the PM Dr Singh.
The minister said after the meeting that he regrets his remarks made against Mulayam Singh and added he had been misquoted.
