PM to distribute ‘Modi tricycles’ among 3200 Divyangs in Varanasi

Varanasi: As Prime minister Narendra Modi is all set to visit Varanasi to attend a function by the ministry of social justice and empowerment, the tricycles he will be distributing among the physically challenged have already being called ‘Modi tricycles’.


Even before their assembling, these tricycles are being referred as ‘Modi tricycles’ by workers who are assembling them. The preparations are being monitored by officers of district administration, handicapped welfare department and the ministry officials.

An another camp will held on January 18 to enroll more beneficiaries who were not registered earlier.  PM Modi will participate in the event to be held in DLW Intermediate College premises on January 22 and will distribute artificial limbs, hearing aids, tricycles and other equipment to the Divyand (physically challenged).

According to report, a total 7766 benefeciaries were selected through camps organized by the district administration in eight blocks and the city area. Out of the total, 3200 people will be given tricycles and 400 artificial limbs.

The consignment of these equipment will reach in 140 trucks, with the first consignment reaching in nine trucks at the Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) campus.
