PV Sindhu has become a national icon overnight after winning the coveted Silver Medal at Rio Olympics in Women’s Badminton. She is being lauded for grit and determination and how she gave her opponent, Carolina Marín, who is current world number one, a tough fight in the finals.
But while there are stories of Sindhu’s and her family’s sacrifice to reach where she has and how she gave up on lot of things to win the coveted medal at the Olympics as she was asked by her coach P Gopichand- not much is discussed about the how, at heart, she is a regular 21 year old girl.

She may have catapulted to become an icon for thousands of young men and women to never give up on dreams- but if one looks at her Instagram posts- Sindhu, ultimately, is like any other 21 year old girl who likes to take selfies, enjoys making Dubsmash videos and digging into a huge ice cream Sunday.

The 21 year old loves her family and many of her posts are about them. Her parents and her sister. And then there are posts about her love for ice cream and Starbucks coffee.

Olympic champion or not, Sindhu’s Instagram posts are surely like just ours- full of love,food, family and friends.
