In this Chhattisgarh village, residents keep poisonous snakes as pet

In almost every household of a village in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh, the residents keep snakes as their pets.

According to an ETV report, the residents of Ghumra village, located amid the hills of Biyawan forests, are fond of petting poisonous snakes.

The residents feed their pet snakes with insects and frogs on a daily basis. They even play with them.

As per two residents of the village, Asbar Ram and Moti Ram, the forest department has even certified them as official snake catchers however, they haven’t yet been paid for the work they do.
